URBN Design is the premier Architectural, Engineering and Owner’s Representative Consulting firm in South Florida. Our speciality is taking projects from an initial concept and vision through design, permitting and construction administration.

URBN Design was founded in 2017 as a turn-key commercial and residential Architectural and Engineering design firm taking projects from an initial concept and vision through construction documents and permitting.

We approach projects like a vested partner with a goal of designing our project within budget and on time. We believe each project should achieve two main goals, one being a successful and profitable project for our client and two, being a project that improves the overall quality and character of the neighborhood. As the development cycle within Florida continues at a rapid pace, URBN Design approach to utilizing sustainable and resilient technologies have been critical to our clients and communities.

Chris Collins
Founder/President of URBN Design

Chris Collins is the Founder and President or URBN Design which he founded in 2017. Chris received in Engineering Degree from the University of Central Florida in the mid 2000’s. Chris began his career in 2004 working for a wide array of private commercial developers and retailers throughout the Southeast United States and Caribbean.

Chris has developed a great deal of expertise in engineering, architecture, construction and overall development over the past 20 years. Chris has led small scale developments and up to 500 million-dollar projects through feasibility, design, permitting and construction and has experience in every commercial sector, from mixed use, multifamily, retail, restaurant, office and industrial. Chris loves being a key contributor to every aspect of the project, from an initial hand sketch to seeing the final piece of construction.

Chris has served on the City of Miami’s Planning and Zoning Board for the past 10 years as Mayor Francis Suarez’s appointment, playing a key part of the planning process to help shape the City of Miami. Chris also serves on the local Urban Land Institute’s Leadership Committee and is a member of American Society of Civil Engineer’s and American Planning Institute. In his free time, Chris can be found with his wife, Berjheny and children Amara and Nico.

Jorge Luis Ovalle
Architect - LEED AP

Jorge is an internationally awarded architect who specializes in the design of contemporary urban buildings and structures with an emphasis in institutional projects and its relation with the community and its context.

He envisions the practice of architecture as a holistic discipline where the architect becomes a humanist and an artist. His design process begins with an extensive research phase of the social, cultural, economic and physical context which he applies in the development of unique ideas oriented to provide the best quality design for the client and the community where the project will be located.

Jorge Luis has worked as a professor of architectural design in the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá, and has been actively involved in the promotion and organization of design competitions as a member of the Colombian Society of Architects .He has designed and developed numerous projects in North and South America, applying the latest concepts of green architecture. His portfolio includes a wide variety of projects and his skills allow him to lead all the phases of the design process from conceptualization to project delivery.
